When everything you hold dear becomes a lie, how far would you go for revenge? Once happily married to the love of her life, Catherine begins losing control – and does what’s necessary to get it back. ‘Artful Gambit’ is a surreal psychological thriller that dives into the twisted mind of this newly admitted mental patient and the journey that begins with a single confession: “I killed my husband.”

Artful Gambit is a story born of daydreams during I-405 traffic. Director Sigurd Culhane first brought the idea to writer Kristen Shilton over one year ago, which set them on course to create the script for the film. After bringing together the very talented cast and crew for the film, they sought support and funding from friends and family via kickstarter and reached their goal of $10,000 in April of 2013. Production saw a few early hiccups, including losing the main location, but were able to recover and ultimately benefit from the loss. The crew of Artful Gambit took to a sound stage at the end of August. Production designer Adrina Rose Garibian created the beautiful sets of Artful from scratch, while Director of Photography, Andrew Aiello, brought them to life through the lens. After several months of post production, Artful Gambit has reached completion and begins its journey through the festival circuit. This is Sigurd Culhane’s directorial debut.
