With the help of Amazon Studios and Melnitz Movies, Bruin Film Society brings you a free advance screening of Lynne Ramsay’s “You Were Never Really Here.” Winner of Best Screenplay and Best Actor (Joaquin Phoenix) at the 2017 Cannes Film Festival, the film has garnered immense critical acclaim and even a 7-minute standing ovation at Cannes. You don’t want to miss this film, which has drawn comparisons to the likes of “Taxi Driver”, “Drive”, and “Taken”. Also features a score from the Oscar-nominated Jonny Greenwood of Radiohead!

TICKETING INFORMATION

Event is open to the public, but students with Bruin Cards get priority until 7:00 pm. At 7:00 pm, all remaining seats will be released on a first come first serve basis. Please pull up your Eventbrite reservation on your phone or print it out.

“A brutal, punishing watch, but every minute is a masterclass in filmmaking. It’s like a one-inch-punch to the gut, winding you from the start and giving you no respite. This exquisite examination of suffering will leave you staggering from the cinema.”
-Joseph Walsh, The Skinny
